Dimitris Grammatikoyiannis – Δημήτρης Γραμματικογιάννης was born in 1968 in Heliopolis – Athens.
He studied fashion design in PANSIK Fashion School (later he worked as a professor for Styling for two years there) in AKTO art & design (the last two years joins the team of professors for Master of Arts in Fashion Brand Communication&Styling and he teaches Innovative Styling) and continued his studies in garment design and styling to Lorenzo de ‘Medici (Italian International Institute) in Florence and Central Saint Martin’s College of Art & Design (Fashion Styling for Professionals) in London respectively.
He really soon realized his affection for fashion sustainability and he has introduced the principles of ethical fashion, as well as, has edited and directed eco-ethical fashion editorials in the Greek fashion industry and magazines since 2001. Dimitris is the first stylist and fashion editor worldwide who engaged political, social and eco statements and messages into fashion editorials. The Russian edition of Numero, named him, eco makeover for the thematic environmental issue (TOXIC PLANET 2049), published in December 2018.
Regarding his business activities, he has been active in the field of advertising both on television and in print, music video clips and advertising campaigns companies. He has collaborated with many magazines as Fashion Editor and Stylist including KLIK magazine, Lipstick, Glam and Style, VIMAdonna, VIMAmen, People, Traveller’s Icons, Conde Nast Traveller, Russian NUMERO as eco makeover, fashion Editor at Athens Hilton Magazine and Golf and Leisure (magazine golf Glyfada). The last eight years, he is the founder the site www.ethicalode.com.
His orientation and perspective about fashion was and still is sociological, political and ecological.
Dimitris has been working as a fashion editor, stylist, eco makeover for more than twenty years so far. Recently he acted as the Curator for the “Art and Fashion “exhibition which has been organized at the Athens School of Fine Arts to promote the 45 designers who participated in the CreativeWear project. Also, he designed a thematic dress against female harassment and trafficking with the title “Your body is the Temple of your soul” for the Raise your Voice Festival, which was presented in a two-day conference organized by OSCE, Municipality of Athens and Bloomberg Associates for prevention of trafficking and lately, at Prato Museo del Fabrizio (Textile Museum).
He also has organised plenty of ethical and sustainable shows. When FashionTV, on Tuesday 20 September held its World’s Excellence Gala, Dimitris and his site Ethical Ode was invited to present the Sustainable Greek Brands&Designers. The Fashion Show with the title “Only United We Win” promoting all these brands, drew applause and great publicity.
He has delived a talk in TEDx Larissa, on September 2021, presenting his work and how he introduced ethical fashion in greek magazines and generally in the industry for more than twenty years so far.
He has been interviewed many times by Greek magazines and Greek TV channels, newspapers and websites because of his social, eco, authentic and genuine work that has been performed on ethicalode.com and fashion generally, since 2001.
